HIPAA Privacy
GEMCare Health Plan (GHP) and our associated delegates are committed to protect the privacy of GHP members. GHP will make every effort to protect any document in hard copy or electronic form (computer data) which displays numbers, names, conditions, identity codes or data that would allow persons that are not related to patient care, quality of care studies, payment or administration of health care services, to identify the GHP member.
In general, medical information about a patient can only be released after GHP has received authorization from a patient or the patient’s appropriate representative.
